An 8TPH biomass pellet production line has been installed and commissioned at a leading textile mill in Lahore, Pakistan, converting locally sourced rice husks into pellets that feed the textile plant’s own boilers. Built around two VPM900 vertical ring-die pellet mills rated at 250 kW each (4 TPH per unit), the line passed full dual-machine verification runs in July 2026.
Project Overview of Husk Pellet Plant
Conclusion first: the project converts cheap, abundant rice husks into dense boiler-grade pellets on the customer’s own site, eliminating fuel purchasing volatility while cutting logistics cost versus raw husk transport. The customer is a large textile manufacturer, and the pellets are consumed directly by its in-plant boilers; no packaging or bagging section is installed, and finished pellets are loaded by belt conveyor into trucks for short-distance delivery to the boiler house.
This rice husk pellet plant was engineered around a dual-mill layout: two 250 kW VPM900 vertical ring-die pellet mills running in parallel, each rated at 4 TPH, giving a combined design capacity of 8 TPH. Raw material is rice husk with a moisture content of roughly 10% — typical of the region’s arid climate — so an on-site water-mixing step was included to bring the material into the optimal pelleting range. The customer has reserved wheat straw and elephant grass for future feedstock expansion once a crushing stage is added. (read more: husk pellet processing machine)

Main Equipment for a Husk Pellet Production Line
- Complete line overview: Aerial and ground-level shots show the full flow from the rice husk stockpile through both screw feeders to the two pellet mills, the pellet cooler, and the inclined belt conveyors loading trucks outside the workshop.
- Pellet mill and cooling chamber: Close-ups of the VPM900 ring-die press chamber and the counterflow pellet cooler, including the vibrating screen that separates fines before loading.
- Dust collection and control system: The 8-tube and 27-tube bag filters, 1 m cyclone with a 15 kW fan, and the 380 V / 50 Hz explosion-proof main control cabinet installed in a dedicated electrical room.
- Operator training sessions: Photos and video stills of hands-on training: roller and ring-die replacement, start-up sequence, feed-rate and ammeter monitoring, and moisture measurement.
8TPH Pellet Line Configuration & Technical Highlights
The process forms a closed loop designed for simplicity and reliability in a hot, dusty environment:
Rice husks → magnetic separator (tramp iron removal) → twin-shaft anti-block variable-speed screw feeders → VPM900 pellet mills → edge-sealing inclined belt conveyor → 6 m³ counterflow pellet cooler with vibrating screen → belt conveyor → truck loading → on-site boilers.
- Dual-mill parallel architecture: Two independent 4 TPH lines share a common cooling and conveying section, so either mill can keep producing while the other is serviced. Each mill is driven by a 250 kW main motor, and the ammeter on the main control cabinet provides real-time feed-load feedback used to prevent choking.
- Feed-end engineering for dry husk: Because local husk moisture sits near 10%, an in-line water-mixing step conditions the material before pelleting; the twin-shaft anti-block feeder maintains a steady, variable-speed feed to avoid surge loading of the die.
- Cooling and dedusting: The 6 m³ counterflow cooler doubles as a buffer hopper and sets pellet hardness; the vibrating screen removes unformed fines at discharge. Dust is captured by 8-tube and 27-tube bag filters plus a 1 m cyclone with a 15 kW fan, keeping the workshop air clean during continuous operation.

Pellet Line On-Site Installation & Commissioning
Our engineers carried out installation, commissioning and operator training in two planned visit rounds between March and July 2026, working alongside the customer’s civil, electrical and lifting crews.
- Site preparation and positioning
Foundation pits matched the supplied drawings, and the electrical room location was confirmed before machinery placement; the screw feeders were aligned with forklift fine-adjustment, eliminating the need for crane work during positioning. - Equipment assembly and layout correction
Conveyor belts, the cooler top cover, and ducting were installed progressively. On-site checks identified a few civil and layout deviations (platform height differences, cyclone and dedusting positions, pipe alignment), which our team corrected by re-welding brackets and re-routing ducts before the first power-on. - Electrical and control debugging
Wiring was completed with the customer’s electricians using our cabinet schematics; control parameters of the variable-frequency drives were corrected on site, and instrument readings across the main, remote and inverter cabinets were calibrated to a single reference. - First material test and production verification
After full-line no-load running, the first conditioned rice husk was fed through the mills; pellet quality, cooling and fines removal were verified, and output was measured for both mills individually during commissioning runs in April 2026. - Second round and full-capacity validation
A second engineering visit resolved outstanding items and ran mixed-material trials (1:1 and 1:2 grass-to-husk ratios) followed by sustained dual-machine production tests in July 2026, confirming stable 8 TPH-class output.
Why Pakistan’s Biomass Market Drives Pellet Plant Demand
Conclusion first: Pakistan’s biomass fuel economics are unusually favorable for producing biomass boiler fuel pellets on site. Punjab is a major rice- and wheat-producing region, so husk and straw are generated in large volumes at very low farm-gate cost; the customer’s own stockpiles alone were described as “mountains” beside the workshop.
Textile mills in Pakistan face high and volatile energy costs, making self-produced solid biofuel an attractive hedge. Dense pellets (versus loose husk) deliver consistent calorific value per truckload, lower transport cost, and better boiler combustion control. The arid local climate keeps husk moisture near 10%, which favors dry pelleting economics, provided the line includes water-conditioning to hit the optimal 12–15% window. With future wheat straw and elephant grass already planned as feedstock, the project is designed to scale with the customer’s boiler demand. (read more: biomass pellet plant in Pakistan)
